What does a lash lift do?
What it does
A lift curls your own lashes up from the root, so they open the eye without extensions or fills. Desiree's menu says it lasts six to eight weeks.
Who it suits
Straight or downward lashes that won't hold a curl, and anyone who wants a low-upkeep look. Light lashes add a tint with the lift and tint appointment.
Lift or extensions?
A lift works with the length and fullness you already have and makes them show. For lashes longer or fuller than your own, that is extensions, which are kept full with a fill about every two weeks.

Prep and aftercare
How do I prepare for a lash lift?
- Come with clean lashes: no mascara, eyeliner or eye makeup.
- Skip oily products around your eyes that day so the lift takes evenly.
- Don't curl your lashes that day.
- If your eyes get sensitive or you've reacted to a lash lift before, call or text Desiree and ask about a patch test 24 to 48 hours ahead.
- If you wear contact lenses, bring your case; most people are more comfortable without them.
- You'll lie back with your eyes closed for about 45 minutes, so wear something comfortable, and skip a big coffee right before if caffeine makes you jittery.
- Arrive a few minutes early so you can settle in.
What aftercare does a lash lift need?
- Keep your lashes dry, and skip steam, saunas and mascara for 24 to 48 hours.
- Skip the lash curler; the lift does the work.
- A lift usually lasts six to eight weeks, so plan your next one around then.
